First Week of October

I'm pretty new with this blog thing, so bear with me if it's not as colorful as you would like :).  I am enjoying my time here in North Carolina and I thought this might be a good way to update people on what I'm doing.

1. Law School

I've been applying to several different law schools in Illinois; NIU, SIU, and John Marshall so far.  I haven't heard anything yet from them yet, but I think they will start making decisions in november, so I am looking forward to that!  It has been a little stressful getting applications out, but the nice part about law school applications is that once you have filled one out online, it remembers your information and automatically fills out the rest.  I'm very excited to see where this leads me.

2. VISTA work

North Carolina is great, I am having an amazing time out here.  Our sustainable agriculture program is getting off it's feet, we have a raised bed here at the Healing Lodge.  If you haven't "liked" our Facebook page yet, I would recommend doing that, I post all of my pictures on their page, so check it out.  Here is the link for that http://www.facebook.com/Healinglodge  I won't be putting a lot of pictures about my VISTA work on here because this is just a personal blog for close family and friends, and they will already have pictures of everything.  October is going to be a busy month, I have 2 conferences to go to next week, I *might* be traveling back to dekalb sometime to surprise Alexa, she doesn't know when yet, so if anyone knows, don't tell her ;).

3. After work

After work on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have been playing Ultimate Frisbee in Fort Bragg.  This is an awesome game that helps to keep me in shape.  It's really simple to learn how to play.  I also took an 8 mile bike ride this week - that felt great.  Also, this month I am trying to win a million dollars, so if you aren't playing mcdonalds monopoly, but still go to mcdonalds, let me or alexa know :).  Alexa came up to visit this past weekend, so it was very good to see her.  We spent Friday night at my place, Saturday in Wilmington, we went to Wrightsville beach Sunday morning, and headed back to Pembroke Sunday afternoon to meet up with my grandparents.  It was also good to see Grandpa and Grandma, I forgot how much I like being around them and their quirks.  Grandma wanted to get some fried pickles tuesday night, so Grandpa and I went to Mighty J's (a local bar) and ordered some fried pickles to go.  I personally don't really like fried pickles, but Grandpa seemed to like them.  They texted be last night that they were in Indiana, and I believe they were driving up to Holland, MI before they headed back to Fulton.  I am also in a Fantasy football league with Hudson, and a couple of friends back in Fulton, which is cool because it keeps me into football and paying attention to it.  Also, I am a huge NY Yankee fan, and they just recently made it to the playoffs by winning their division.
